IPL Action : Outside Ground

Yesterday...the joy and feel of one of the biggest finals faints because of a more interesting match going on outside the field.....to end a golden era of cricket league....to remove an extraordinary administrator..a man with unparalleled vision....but this whole episode teach few lesson..
1.Swelling success and digesting or living it is not at all an easy task...(hats off too Sachin who managed it for past 20 years without any controversy)
2. All great visionary and great administrators not at all generate new ideas but they convert an idea come in wind of talk to a dream and then live them till success...
3. Every thing Which achieve great success is an idea being tried earlier but overpowered by more powerful people.
4.It also reflects the status of Cricket , which has become the power house, for which all sort of politicians, business houses, Cine stars are in field.
5.It also teaches how billions can be teared out from a piece of paper.
6. It is the best example , how to override your competitors.(ICL every one knows no more exists)
7. Always give due respect to team members otherwise...................
8.Success never comes easy and when it comes then its time to be more careful rather than be overjoyed in enjoying it and making loopholes so others can exploit later on.
9.Silence can give you more life, truth is not every thing what matters how you are presenting it and against whom it is?
10. Last but not the least...stay away from twitter it can take your ministry..your crown..always its not about expressing ..but sometimes its about leaving...and every scandal has only one reason.........A LADY..
Lets analyzed it a bit....
Rise of a Great Administrator..A brand maker....A king maker.. Lalit Modi...
In Delhi on Nov. 29, 1963 born a boy in a billionaire family..as all rich kids he also got everything easily but he was a bit different, he didn't enjoy it, as he is not suffering from primary needs of life..he has a desire to do something different....different than others..he tried various things good or bad, what ever he felt right , went to jail in college life, as all great enthusiastic people, if their energy not utilized at right place leads to wrong..but mistakes happen in life..after college he seen that in today's world public celebrities are mainly from entertainment world..so he tried with Disney and other entertainment companies..which not worked in his way..in 1992 he came in cricket actively, from there a new story begins...A person has came with this idea of city league in cricket to Jagmohan Dalmiya , president of BCCI that time, and from here Lalit Modi has got his idea ..he turned it to a dream then passion..but from that time his status was not so much that he can overrule BCCI president, so first he demolished BCCI president, make a person to sit at that post, now it was only about showing his administrative skills, he shows the board how money can be earned from cricket, and a politician seating at board chairman post cant spare his love for money...now stage was set only the person was waiting for an opportunity...that comes in the way of ICL.. now board has first time seen an revolt in Indian cricket and it was scattering...and inefficient people sitting there seen no way to stop it...this was the moment of rise of a great administrator....Lalit Modi stepped in and rest becomes history...His stature keep on growing , his attitude is giving him success..same time his ego is also growing ..and incapable persons sitting In BCCI were mare spectators ...and his stature reached on peak when Indian government denies to host IPL 2 and he shifted every thing to south Africa in just 15 days time ..that time Indian government felt that a person is growing and conspiracies started as it been done with all persons who make gold out of sand. Now what happen last night raised many questions....
1. No one is denying what has happen to IPL is a shear result of someones dedication and hard work then why his exit is so ugly? Is it a tribute the man deserve?
2. Is it just a scarifies to save some white collar men(lot of names have came in Pics).
3. Why half night exit , if he is working s well why not to give him time to explain?
4. What BCCI is fearing?
5. If he was doing something wrong what governing council was doing that time, and if Modi is going why not the whole Governing Council?

IS it the right exit for a person who have given cricket a new height?more over to that is exit was required?

These all questions will get their answer in coming time.
But in my opinion , Modi must be invited in IIMs to give management and administrative lessons to young guns, they must learn the way to get success, and the same time Modi's lecture must be followed by Sachin Tendulkar's lecture how to sallow the success, and this combination will make some really potential and great leaders and administrative.

Now one more thing is there to learn..
What are the conditions when a person grow to a stature that organization stature looks short at him? ..Well what I observe that single man centric organizations doesn't lead to long, if your successor is not more stronger than you....one of the measure reasons of fall of Mughal empire was the structure put by Badshah AKabar ..he was single man eccentric hence a week leader cant control it..where as in case of systems its system which make people work and run the show ..and it can allow weak persons also to make result because a system is working not individuals...but its very important to keep people of similar caliber in system for its best working..best example can be seen in any Japanese company....generally when a person have more passion and potential then other counters of system it grows bigger and bigger than system and take my word..talent in any segment cant be ignored when it mixes with passion and dedication..like Sachin has grown its stature more than cricket now Sachin doesn't mean by cricket but cricket is mean by him ( but same time it cant be denied that when Sachin was forming so he was the only of his kind..and its cricket so i don't want to use the word incapable for others)....But in Lalit Modi's case it was his ability which grown him bigger and allow him accumulate power can be true but it contributed only 20% rest all is inability of other people in system...if u keep a Diamond in coal the diamond will shine it will seem different, but in diamond mine all shines same.....Now those people somehow want to snatch the success and coals are polishing themselves..after all they are also carbon and diamond is also carbon..if u keep rubbing it can get coated but at end diamond will remain diamond and coal will coal...............

I am waiting for the next actions and will update you on same with a different touch of opinion.............

And at last hey RAVS..........as always i have kept my promise waiting for your response....................

  1. interesting ! it indeed is beyond my power n thinking to comment on such a topic which has been discussed by vikas in such a vivid manner..
i wud not even dare to say or write anything bcoz it wud be xtremely demeaning for me to comment on such divrse n exclusive topic by such a visionary like vikas..
i can't express how happy i'm feeling rite nw...oh! my god..i'm sharing writng space with vikas..thats beyond words to xplain..thanks vikas that u even considered a brainless, stupid n dumb individual lyk me to write something here..thats ur greatness !
what r modi n sachin in front of u??

  2. katyayan...waise jhand kar dete yar...
itna sajane ki kya jarurat thi....its really insulting....well i have left something in it..and was sure that u will notice it...but its sad to find that u post a comment not relevant and simply a humiliating one for me...i was hoping for a frank opinion....but i think my hard work of 1.5 hours is waste since u dont even has read the article....which i personally think was worth of being read......so its really disappointing.......i just wish if u could have read it..and might some invaluable observation could have came......
actually i wanted a good debate on that..it will be requested if u spare some of ur invaluable time and might just read ones....and then put some invaluable intellectual light on it....

  3. yaar..tum jo hamari jhand karte rehte ho wo kuch nahi..i think u have written it sufficiantly enough that nothing needs to be added.
but still i wud like to add a few stupid thoughts of mine... pardon me if they hurt ur intellectual sensibilities..i mean,i'm nothing in comparison to u but still wud try to apply my almost diffused metal state to this issue..
first of all, i'm someone who surfs net from a cafe n doesn't have a full tym net connection so, it becms quite difficult n tym consuming for me 2 first read such a lengthy post n then comment...as u knw my monetary support is limited !
    coming to the issue..
i don't consider "modi" as some sort of a messiah of cricket as u have tried to potray..he is lyk any other business individual trying to do business on any terms..earn profits n go back home..
wen u say that he should have been treated better,i think this was least board cud do..there are serious fraud charges coming up on him n he is no better than ketan parekh or abdul karim telgi..It is reported in the economic times that b/w 2008 n 2010 , he bought a luxury yatch, cruise, haveli's n numerous s-class mercedes..where did the money come froM? wen u say, he was the one who came up with the concept of IPL ..i wud say it's nothing..the same concept applies to football clubs in Europe n bfr dat ICL..so, given the popularity of cricket, had it been a "panwadi" at a local pan bhandar he wud have done the same wonders.
now this whole is not dat simple, let the full report come n den we will discuss..he has stake in almost 3-4 franchises directly or indirectly that itself raises eyebrows.

apart from i wud lyk to add something else..this has been problem haunting us from past. whenever an event of such magnitude happens we indians end up being mere
spectators..all dese money minting individuals lyk modi make profits private n losses public.. of the crores that were moved what did the public get ?? a newspaper full with IPLshit !
that is not in west..the ppl are part of business..i think wen the common man is running the whole show , why shud a few bunch of jokers with money in the bag n glitz on the face end up with all the profits..
nxt tym, i ud luv to share holders into this league .it wud definitely make it accountable.

fianlly, i wud lyk to ask vikas for his forgiveness if in any matter i went beyond my limits..
caution: these thoughts are from my own stupid n narrow mindset n in no way they shud b implied on vikas whose genuinety, intellutuality n profound writing has garnered zillions of fans across the globe.
thanks vikas again for giving me an opportunity 2 dis useless individual.

  4. that is something what i have been expecting from this post.......a healthy discussion....as par your thinking abilities are concern..no one has any doubt that yours one is one of the most intellectual brains of India..with extraordinary intelligence..which is being confirmed by Ravs also who got a slight edge in intelligence....if u need more proves i can give you.. .... though in case .well there is no difference of opinion that Modi is a great business man who had make billions out of nothing.....one more thing i would like to add ..katyayan ..these havilies and all he can bought any way... ..he is also an owner of 5000carores business..and have a great family background which is a guarantee of very good political connections......so that's other part of business..and no way linked to IPL..........now to second case .....when its coming to owner ship of franchisee....i just want to say if a BCCI secretary can own an ipl team then what wrong if some relative of Lalit modi..has some share in some franchisee. (which steel needs to be proved) .....Mr. Sharad powers son-in law also has the telecast rights....so no one sitting there is clean and after its all business...so why only Modi?.....more over to that i am not saying Mr. Modi is a sadhu....but all these things cant deny the success he bought to IPL....like having affair with models and behavioral skill kept Shane warne away from Captaincy of Australian team but do u have any doubt about his leadership in your mind?....in three years its worlds fourth most popular league..it has taken cricket to new horizons and nations like US ...this fact will remain there......when history of IPL or cricket will written Modi will remain there as big contributor......but one thing we Indians are always lacking that is professionalism...and an understanding of seeing things differently...when someone is doing something good we expect him to be RAM ..we still not have face & courage to see so many good things were there in RAVAn too and it can be proved that Ravan was a better leader and king than RAM......I do agree there might be 100 of allegations there on Modi....but let him come with answers if its found wrong....then simply finalize a punishment....but in any system other than dictatorship you cant say he is guilty and hang him with hearing his side.......i just want to focus his contribution in IPL..and want to bring out its ..Bright shades of darkness.....

and katyayan pls put it simple every one knows about your mental abilities as well as mine so its really look funny when u right this hypocritical words....I have proven it with a third party WHO is capable of judging....if u want i can bring more people in....so b straight .....hope to see more from you.........

  5. well one more thing...i said that i have left one angle in it which i was sure that u will find and notice it....but it seems that you are so busy in pulling my leg....that u didn't pay enough attention....

let me put that..if you notice and as you said that Lalit modi is a great business man.....so c this with a different angle...this all started from a twit....and after what happened...the only aspect who has gain out of is twitter....its popularity has increased enormously it can be the case Lalit modi is promoting twitter and can have a heavy brand building fee from the social networking site....because its been in news most and gaining its popularity faster than another social networking site..so it can also be an angle...Modi might have thought of making money out of it...or he may have some shares of Twitter...

  7. @vikas..first things first..i know u wud say dat he is from a business family..i know dat but why he bought these things only in the past 3 yrs.???
about your ravan n raam thing..i think there has to b some amount of accountability on the part of ppl involved in business . don't u think so??about srinivasan,he bid for the franchise in front of the whole world..so, it's completely legal !
one thing more, u call him a great administrator..then why r the papers missing.? why there is no account for the money exchanged b/w msm n wsg deal?
and i want to tell u one thing dat wud definitely help in changing ur opinion..
do u know ?? he is a part of the famous betting firm in u.k. called "BETFAIR" n he was about to bring casino n betting business in india...this was procured by investigating authorities from his mail i.d.
that means he was also into match fixing ! i mean dere is every possibility dat matches involving his sides were fixed..last but not the least, we must give xamples of ppl lyk sachin but nt modi who just mean money no passion!
also as u said about twitter, u knw what twitter is ..it's a global phenomenon ..it's growth rate is 1000% in 6 months..who is modi in front of dat?? why wud they pay modi?? there are just 60,000 odd followers of modi compared to almost millions of users worldwide ...nobody who is modi n what he does in te outside world? there is just no comparison!

and lastly, pls tell me who told u dat i have the most xtraordinary brain the world..which is the device dat u used to measure dat?? i mean, there r 1000 tyms smart n intelligent ppl lyk u in the world..so who i'm ??
by the way, vikas on a serious note, it is indeed humiliating when u keep on saying the same thing everytym ..i dunno whether u mean it or not? but it definitely makes me feel small n useless..
i have alwys said u r the best..we r always the rest..thanks again for giving ur precious tym to a fool lyk me ..thank u!

  8. well katyayan i am totally agree with all your fact...I have no other opinion on what went wrong....neither I saying modi is a great Man personally ....All what i am saying is he has done a great job and shown tremendous work of administration and leadership...and emerge as great administrator in case of this IPL.......lets take one by one.....
1.Why this wonder 3 years back..Valid one..Now I have mentioned in my article he was trying in all personas..some bad things like what happen in us in his college time was an example that he was trying...he has managed his business very well and multiplied 1700 carore to 5000 carore in just 8 years after talking over but that can’t be highlighted...since you will also observe the news today mostly consist of either politician..Or cricketer...or entertainment industry... so that the thing which been in news..hope will clarify...
2.Well you fired someone and putting the allegation he is saying everything is there and it might be BCCI has done this , he is ready to take the responsibility let him clarify at least...and missing papers doesn’t less ability of an administration in scenario where whole country forces are against him...
3.well to third point that is a registered company and again he was trying to bring something which is not usual to India...and where match fixing is concern i am not seeing any hint of it..and before modi this has happen to India....and making money is not an easy job it do need passion..and every bad thing has a bigger lesson to learn….so lets learn it na..
    4. In case of twitter well I was just giving an strange opinion that this might be the case not saying that it is the case.. and now I know what twitter is but I am still not agree that all common men in India were knowing about it earlier there were so many common men like me are there who were not very well informed but I am not that much least informed about IT and to be very frank I was not knowing much about it before and there are millions who joined twitter in past 20 days in India (including me) which is more than last 6 months ..(though modi followers are only 127657 till today 10.45PM)..and if twitter has done branding on TV then there must be some cost but it has been shown a]and talked more than anything as in last 20 days on TV…..so its strange opinion but can’t be said totally baseless….

And last your such analyzed thought and opinions poems are measure that you have the best intellectual mind in world( I am saying world because to me how much I have seen is world , the day I will c someone as as intellectual as you I will stop saying that)…..this is what a healthy discussion I want on this blog……thanks very much for your frank and impartial opinion..hope to see more from you……..because this discussion is still open…………………….

  9. luk, i just wanted to show u the other side of the picture..i never said dat "modi" is not a gud businessman...he is ! or may b? but he is not a role model..which u have by default tried to potray..i mean, u just can't put him in the same picture with sachin.
by the way, his business comes from the times of his grandfather n he joined it if i'm not wrong some 8 yrs back..still he is not the m.d. ..his father is still the incharge .so, literally , u just can't give all the credit to him..

About twitter..i knew u wud come up with the exact followers ..i just gave u an estimate ..i knw i'm not as gud as u with respect to figures but still i just wanted to convey dat it wud b baseless to suggest twitter is gaining popularity bcoz of modi in india or elsewhere..there are bigger starts mr. amitabh bacchan, srk, aamir ..salman's addition to twitter only added thousands of fans..priyanka ch.
i do agree dat ur arguement has merit but it's not modi who has attracted followers ..but it's MODI-THAROOR n MODIGATE controversy which has added those followers.

coming to the age old discussion abt "my intellectual brain" read my blog..i want to settle the discussion once n for all

  11. Katyayan i am agreeing to all your other side pictures.....but my point is why we always search for the other side ..and leave the focus of screen..... i am just saying he has done a wonderful job in IPL and that is well admitted ..we cant take this credit from him..because he has done bad in some where in life?
secondly he is M.D of three of his companies ..out of which two he has started...
Secondly when it comes to misuse of power..u r well aware of the recent news of Gov. agencies taping politicians phone ..which is a biggest crime in democracy..and leads towards dictatorship..but still they r running the country..and no hope of change in near future is there? than How can Modi be seen as criminal?..same is the case of using Gov. agencies like CBI and Incometax..well then modi has not done anything wrong in this respect...and this all is being done since he has shown courage to expose an union minister...and let me remind u after IPL 2 the gov. was searching for a chance against (completely against him)....and that what they got this time ..which he could have strongly replied if BCCI have stood by his side.....well and those who says he has hurted the reputation of cricket..they might have not noticed the recent news that a foreign university has just started cricket as a sub for education and they are signing a contract with IPL for campus selection..what more can describe the height of cricket..he has took into..that a player still can have a entry platform in form of campus selection...
I think that's the most recognizing thing some one can bring in any sports......Well if you still say he is not worth of learning some great lessons..then sorry..but i disagree to that.....he might be having..millions of bad things in him..but still I think he has lot of things which we must learn from him........

  12. ****where is the response to the twitter question??what do you think now?

luk, i have already said this time and again that i do not consider him an idol...he had to stand the test of time which unfortunately he didn't...there are hundreds of businessmen who arise from the dust and make it to the top(he had a fortune of grandfathers to support him)...i would rather make them my idol..i have already told u,given the popularity of cricket anybody with a gud working brain cud have produced the same success..he did a gud job. Infact an excellent one, but dat is still really short for me to consider him a role model...

PLEASE ANSWER DIS..u missed all the key questions..do sachin and modi fit in the same picture.?? for me never.
a role model or an idol has to be a "ram"...why we never consider ravan a role model becoz his misdeeds come bfr his gud deeds..that is human mentally.
luk at sachin..they call him "god" why?? coz, he has behaved in dat way..he never let us down.
n luk at "tiger woods"..where is he now? who cares what he did on the field?? is he any lesser than modi??pls answer specifically.

mind u...i agree to the fact dat we must luk to towards the brighter side of the person.
    but we are all human.
    n human tendency is ..
"TO be a hero u have to pay a price ..u have to maintain ur dignity and accountability"
otherwise whts the difference b/w them and us?
nobody worships a lesser god..they want them to b perfect..they want someone they can luk upto...not to someone full of faults like them."

  14. Now, lets get to some serious talk..

First of all let me thank VK for giving my opinions and advices such high value. I truly appreciate that. But hey i didn't like that you wrote my name in the last line of the blog. 2 reasons-
    1. Its embarrassing when someone points out to you on his blog.
    2. It indicates that you are writing this just for me (which i suppose is not the case).

Now, since I have joined the debate pretty late, its just not possible to go and comment on each everything that has been discussed till now. So let me just give my views on the topic, rather than countering others.

Well, after reading this I have specifically grabbed 2 topics to comment on: Twitter and Modi.
Let me come to Twitter first..

if u see this article http://goo.gl/jZ8X in Computer World Mag website, u will see that the article is posted on Jan 26 2010. And it says Twitter has over 75 Millions registered users. How many followers does Modi have?

Also check this news piece from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter :

"Twitter is ranked as one of the 50 most popular websites worldwide by Alexa's web traffic analysis.[47] Although estimates of the number of daily users vary because the company does not release the number of active accounts, a February 2009 Compete.com blog entry ranked Twitter as the third most used social network[48] based on their count of 6 million unique monthly visitors and 55 million monthly visits.[48] In March 2009, a Nielsen.com blog ranked Twitter as the fastest-growing site in the Member Communities category for February 2009. Twitter had a monthly growth of 1,382 percent, Zimbio of 240 percent, followed by Facebook with an increase of 228 percent.[49] However, only 40 percent of Twitter's users are retained.[50]"

And if you go and visit the above page, you will see that Twitter is used for a lot of other purposes than just munching Celeb gossip.

I knew people like Amitabh, SRK, Preity and Tharoor had Twitter accounts but only came to know about Modi's in the last month.

So i seriously protest about ur logic that Modi is making Twitter popular and should have a stake in it. In fact, Twitter till now has been completely ad free and its simplicity is its driving force not the celebs. These are the celebs who get to gain so much from Twitter and should consider donating some money to keep Twitter rising...

  15. Now upto Modi..

Well first let me admit that my knowledge about the administration of IPL is limited so I would not like to comment much on this aspect... And also that this post and the follow up comments have been really informative (besides being amusing).

1.Well, first thing first. I believe in democracy not autocracy. So Modi going out and a definite and accountable cricketing structure being established (if that happens at all) is a good thing.

    2. I believe Modi has done a brilliant job getting IPL to wherever it is today. Moving the whole tournament to another country on such a short notice and then organizing it without much hiccup is no short feat. Indian organizing committees can take a cue from that.

    3. But I think even ICL would have been where IPL is today (or may be close) had it got a helping hand from BCCI and recognition from ICC. I thought IPL was just a "better ICL"

    4. It can't be denied that some illegal trading has been done through IPL. Don't you think paying 1702 and 1533.33 crore Rupees for Pune and Kochi teams is a bit ridiculous? Definite bid-rigging there.

    5. I don't believe in Role-models. You can have ur favorites and can seek inspiration from others. But you have carve ur own identity. Nobody was or is perfect. Neither Ram nor Raavan. So Modi is no hero for me, and if he has done something wrong he should be punished, but with a fair trial.

    6. Who on earth does BCCI officials consider themselves to be? Were they sleeping when Modi was building IPL (and may be himself). And now they suddenly wake up to find that Modi has done everything wrong and he is the man responsible of every malice. Alright its time to bash him! I have never been comfortable of the idea of a "private club consortium" (as per Wikipedia's definition) running a Nation's 'virtual' national game. They just are not accountable to public.

    7. If Modi is that great a businessman , I would like to see him build a new venture, not necessarily out of Cricket.

    ReplyDelete
  16. And lastly I would like to say that you have done a commendable job writing such a high quality post. Definite improvement from your previous posts, both content and presentation wise. Would love to see more of them in the coming time.

But again there is still scope of improvement. Like the blog still seemed 'childish' at laces dues to multiple "....". And there have been a few spelling mistakes (though lot less now) may be due to typo. Consider using a Word processor like MS-Word or Google Docs for writing ur article and using their spell checker.

Also, at places there has been grammatical mistakes. Like u used present tense while narrating 'Modi story" in the article. Hopefully you will keep this in mind and improve further.

    Good Luck...

  17. i wanna say one thing shashi tharoor had been made scapegoat in all this IPL auction row.he was batting for his state(being MP).I must say that such eminent and articulate person could not survive in narrow minded and vote bank oriented politics.I want to ask ....should IPL be nationalised ( i mean should it be made PSU)?

Lalit Modi had been face of IPL but should be ousted if charges are correct .Cricket is not anybody's personal property.Chirayu Amin(interim IPL commissioner) has very good business sense .
Or there should be committee of 3-4 people to regulate the IPL.

  18. well thanks every one..specially Ravs for such invaluable comments..(and for pulling my leg.)
    Now answers to your Queries...
    First to Katy....
    1. I already said twitter is just a strange thought came in my mind while analyzing whole issue..and i never said followers of modi on twitter has increased....i said said as a social networking site twitter came in picture in many common Indian mind after this since in every 20 minutes its name has been repeated on T.V and many who were not aware or lightly aware about it has started taking a keen interest in it in India..
    2. When it comes to role model , well katyayan Sachin and Modi never ever fits in one picture i never said that, but they both presents two different ways..and to get the success in practical and common life modi is a better example since he has done something which can be done my millions in different level and is being done also..(currently.) he is showing how to capitalize the ideas and opportunities from your surrounding..in short Sachin success is a result f shear handwork and devotion where as Modi presents a great example of smart working..
More to that i have mentioned in my article that modi should be invited in IIM to give management lessons on how to capitalized o idea and achieve success..(Lalu has been to IIM after ruining Bihar for 15 years just for virtual success of railway..why not Modi??..)and that should be fallowed by Sachin's how to grab and digest and grab success, that's the real part and tough job, as you also know achieving success is not a great thing holding it for years is a great job..so i have not put Sachin and Modi in same picture ..sachin is far great and ideal and life time role model but modi is practical and scenario learning model instead of role model.. and katyayan when its comes to Ram and Ravan , I always believe Ravan as a bigger role model than RAM so as RAM believes...that i bet i can justify and prove you. hope this will settle your all queries...
and more to that what want to say from this article that why people of India considers every one with success to be god..cant a human being can be successful this concept needs to be understood completely that there are different phase of life and to be successful there is no need of being best in all expects neither any one is...we Indians are like so biz guy's we ourselves built to much of expectation from someone to be always current and when reality comes we feel disappointed and very emotional..same is there in Modi case why we are becoming emotional , let us admit that he has done a great job,and lets have a fare trial ..and see.....(and remind u u can say things wrong somewhere something is going right the gov. who is saying it wrong must look in their own scarf )..

@ Ravs ..Twitter issue i have replied above...and on all others i am extremely happy that you have analyzed the article well and agree to the thought that let us have a fare trial...and give him a decent go if he has to go..

on last a great business men build opportunity in mass interest product only..as i have mentioned above ..soon u will c cricketers with graduation degree and campus requirement ..so that the greatest thing modi has done to Cricket....
@ Saurabh ..thanks for reading my blog..and over nationalization of cricket this will lead to another big discussion..and on Shashi tharoor ..commenting on politics and politician will end u in a book rather than blog..so and i ma not having this much free time these days..so some other day......

And once again thanks every one for such invaluable and intellectual comments..

  19. @vikas..well, vikas all dis u have written b4 as well..
what do u mean by a fair trail ?? do u still think that modi is all clean ?? he will be allowed to present his case...when kasab got such a fair n healthy trial then i have no doubts about modi..he surely will get a fair trial..he has money power n political backing as well.
yaar, u tell me one thing , why is everybody against him ?? if everything is o.k. ,why are they afraid to stand by his side?? when he was getting all the attention, he didn't bother about anyone but now when he is getting ppl's back ...he is complaining..it's his autocratic style that has made him so lonely.

now i wud ask u this question again..??
don't u think given the popularity of cricket ipl wud have been equally popular had der been anyone else in place of modi??
i mean , icl wud have been more popular if it had bcci's support.

    about the whole god issue..
yaar, my earlier comment is the answer itself..read carefully.

    "WE ARE ALL HUMAN".
    you say:
"i always believe Raavan as a bigger role model than RAM so as RAM believes."
then who is worshiped more?? ram or ravan?
yaar, why u still consider him a role model for others is beyond my understanding..
he is just a simple n plain businessman trying to get some money home..
there are so many entrepreneurs around us with same expertise n far greater achievemnets..

    i wus still say,
"HE FAILED THE TEST OF TIME".

  20. Well Katyayan what I mean by fare trial is you know...i just want to say..what was the urge to suspend Modi @ midnight by an email..when he was ready to attend the IPL GC meeting and clarify everything..a man like modi must have been given a chance to do so. What was so hurry in this case?
    2. If everything was going wrong then what other 15 ppl in GC were doing for last 3 years..why not voices raise early..why only after tharoor case??? why not IT department has asked for all this drama early..and ( as you know they have paid a TDS of 200 carores in advance much more than any functioning company and any other sport agency has not even thought about it..)..

3.When it comes to standing by his side , then No one want to be against a gov. who has made it a personal agenda..(otherwise this Shanask Manohar himself has said 3 months back that modi is chairman for 5 years and working so fine that there is no question of thinking IPL without him)..its all that BCCI & few Powerful Leaders needs a pray to save their faces (and because of his attitude Modi become an easy one)...

he is a role model because you cat show me or quote me a single politician who has created an empire of 8000 carores in three years with just idea..and without putting a penny from pocket.....and its Indian mentality that we never be happy by getting things for ourselves but we do feed very sad on others success.....he has define a new horizon of leadership in cricket..which has made him the face of cricket and raise his stature above all so every one is jealous...(if you could have done a pole 2 month back then there is hardly 8%~10% ppl who knows that Shanshak Manohar is BCCI president but Lalit Modi as chairman and commissioner of IPL everyone knows)..that's has made it to came to such scenario....and there was no doubt that modi has made IPL bigger than parent body...BCCI..that has become nail in BBCI eye....

and to your question , i am quite sure popularity of IPL has not been the same if modi has not been there? Shifting a whole tournament to another country in less than 15 days time is no joke.....

And about way of working..i have mentioned in my article that if you put a very talented and ambitious person in bunch of jokers he will sure raise above the rest , same is the case with modi and that's why no one questions his working style...because every one was amazed by the success of IPL and has a feeling in their heart that they could not have been able to do so....and political pressure came then they just scattered that's also an example of week leadership from BCCI, if they had been strong they could have backed Modi and he could have answered all the questioned raised....and more to that still he has not been terminated he has to give his explanation and i am sure he will remain there in IPL.....because he is a person with guts....more to that i never understood...he has not murdered anyone ..neither raped anyone..nor taken money from any one on gun point ..what he all had done is sold a product to highest level which has not been thought...and might taken advantage of few loop holes in the system...that is brilliance not a crime....

And when it comes to business..start from bill gates to Dhirubhai Ambani...all have taken advantage of loop holes in the system..and still they are strength of their country....

In Ram Ravan case , Ram is worshiped more because Indians have more population than Srilanka..that's only reason nothing as....but i am sure this lead to a whole new debate so discuss it separately in my next article..which will be based on this...

hope to c more from u and ravi because discussion is still open.

now i wud ask u this question again..??

  22. and about "ram n ravan"!
70% of the population follows buddhism in srilanka .
so nobody really cares about "ravan n ram"!

  23. Well I am not in best of my health today..but morning news has force me to pick my pen...

@ katyayan...the answer for your question is no...without Modi IPL would not had been the brand it is today..that i had said in my earlier comment also....
And about ICL..well it also not has been popular than IPL even after BCCI support....because there were not such competitive promoters of the game in ICL...
You might notice at one stage..Hockey was much much famous than cricket at the time of Dhyanchand..because he was a special talent and best in the world..so he was a very strong promoter of game..after that no one of his caliber appears in the game , or if i say frankly no bunch of world class player appears in team so its went down....and there were not strong promoters to find such talent....but this all are past ..i hope you might have hear the morning news..and now i don't need to explain that BCCI has acted nothing much than a poppet in government hands..and if Mr. Shanshank Manohar and company has left with a tiny particle of shame ..they must resign and stay away from cricket for rest of the life......and the whole issue is nothing more than a autocracy and ego of Indian Government,

i have heard a story in childhood..there was a boy, one day he was walking on road and a crow flies over his head..a man standing there said to boy..hey that crow has taken your ears and boy started running madly behind the crow without seeing his own ears, weather they are there or not..
Same is the case with BCCI..they heard in news and come up strongly and this shows how incapable and childish they people are ..and such people cant run a show like IPL it needs efficient and capable leaders like MODI.....he came up with all answers of question or say baseless Questions asked by BCCI.for which they dont have any prove...
So now i would like to question katyayan do u still doubt without Modi such bunch of jokers could have run the show....Who are putting the allegation on a person, who has revolutionized the game of the cricket just hearing the news?..not giving him a chance to explain, and when it comes to factual they are saying they have heard in news...and on that bases they are giving such nonsense statement in Media.....

Now just see the next, in first innings BCCI has been allout without even touching a single ball on their bat...
and what this all drama has done is raise the Lalit Modi's stature as a cricket administrator..and taking on Tharoor he has shown the guts..and in spite of whole country powerful forces against him he has proven his character and now he has emerges as a better Role model or say perfect role Model...and thanks very much for such a healthy discussion and invaluable comments, which we can analyze each aspects.

@ Ravi: hey ravs the the fact is there..and now see yourself and thanks for your comment on my blog.

  25. This last comment has been long overdue, its time I fulfill my commitments. Sorry for being so late in keeping my promise.

At the last, I just want to say that, no one and I mean no one is pure saint here. If someone were, then let me know, I would like to meet the modern day god, please.

Now we know that allegation and counter allegation are still going on. So, nothing can be said conclusively. But what I can make out of the drama that has happened till now is... Mr. Modi was given a task to make a world class league which can give millions to money hungry BCCI, which he did superbly. Actually I don't understand what innovative he did, since many of the things in IPL were already being implemented in ICL, its just that the league didn't get popularity, thanks to BCCI. Only innovative things, he seemed to have done is to make 'strategy times' mandatory in every game, thus forcing viewers to 'enjoy' more breaks in between matches. And not to forget, pioneering the on your face ads in between matches. I sometimes wonder, is their any sport which sports more ads than cricket.

So, while doing all this, he himself started becoming all too powerful. Allegedly filling his coffers in the process.. He was the face of IPL, every IPL success story was seen as his creation. Power hungry and jealous BCCI heads couldn't digest this, so they rallied together to throw him out of the razzmatazz called IPL.

So, now here we have a constant battle going on between the 2 parties. Frankly speaking, I don't have much respect for any of the party (howsoever many arguments Vikas gives). I am more interested in the cricket of IPL than its politics. I would be more happy to see less ads than more drama relating in IPL.

And I have many more people to look forward for inspiration than Mr. Modi. Having said that, I respect the views of Vikas that he has done a brilliant job (creating a million dollar, world famous industry is not a small task) and he should be properly acknowledged for that.

It was fun and informative engaging on this topic. Thanks again for a nice post.. I consider the matter buried from my side.

  26. hiii

After this CWG event, I strongly can say that BCC and Indian government is playing tricks on IPL...
A man who has earned almost 7000 crores from a piece of paper is being suspended, questioned, people supporting him is being destroyed( thats not democratic neither legal which will proven in court)..just because he was more capable than others and dont came in influence of BCCI gods and ministers and let me mind you there not even a single pie of taxpayers money is evolved.

And a great person called Mr. Kalmadi has just burnout 70000 crores on some games and came across thousand of irregularities (clearly shown by media )..is being honored by India(since every one has his share of money and every one is incapable in system)...and let me tell you its own money ..hard core taxpayers money and amount is also almost more than 20% of annual budget.

It reflects what management and organizing strength Mr. Modi had and what is with GOv.

Thats not fair..neither legal..nor logical..and to most not at all democratic...

Common wealth has not bought any proud to India on international stage...IPL did.

    what you people feel..

  27. I thought it was end of discussion, but what BCCI did and has been doing to destroy IPL prompted me to write here once again.

BCCI has expelled the Punjab and Rajasthan teams out of IPL and may very well show the door to new born Kochi team too. Now, they may have point against the teams but just cut shorting them isn't the solution in any way.

And all this seem to be being done under the rivalry with Modi. Shameful.

  28. "Common wealth has not bought any proud to India on international stage...IPL did."

I strongly disagree with the above statement. CWG though cost India more than it should have, but it was important milestone in Indian sports history. Indian sports person performed like never before, and u will agree that home advantage did make a difference.

While I also love IPL (and strongly support Delhi Daredevils), an IPL match can never give the same kind of emotions that u get when India beats Pakistan handsomely in a Hockey match.

Also, while I do have a soft corner for Mr. Kalmadi (but not like your support for Mr. Modi!), nobody in India is supporting him, forget honoring him. In fact whole of the India seem to be behind him and won't stop until he gets punished someway.
